There is no need to have everything figured out. We can begin with what you have.

Donor Relations & Institutional Placement

Not all archives stay personal.

Some collections are meant to live within institutions universities, libraries, and museums where they can be preserved, accessed, and studied over time.
But that process can be confusing, overwhelming, and at times extractive.

I support individuals, families, and communities in navigating this process with clarity, intention, and care.

I help you:
• Understand what it means to place your archive within an institution
• Evaluate institutional interest and requests
• Prepare your collection for potential donation or acquisition
• Develop a clear narrative around your materials and their significance
• Ask the right questions before entering into agreements
• Ensure your story is represented accurately and on your terms

I also work with institutions to:

• Identify and connect with potential collections and communities
• Support ethical relationship-building and trust-based outreach
• Develop approaches to donor relations that are grounded in respect and reciprocity

Not every archive belongs in an institution. And when it does, it should enter that space with intention, clarity, and respect.

This work is about more than placement.
It is about protecting the integrity of your story while expanding its reach.

If funds are available, no one is turned away.
